Sr. Lupita Chaparro, a Canossian Daughter of Charity (FdCC) with a heart that beats for God, people, and justice! She began her journey as a sister in 1999 (first vows) and joyfully sealed her lifelong “yes” in 2007 (final vows).
One of the greatest gifts of her life as a sister has been living in community! Each day she gets to share life with other sisters whose faith, joy, and service inspire her and make her grow. Because her community is both missionary and international, she’s been blessed to live alongside sisters from all around the world—Italy, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, England, Argentina, Australia, and of course, Mexico. Every conversation, every shared meal, every laugh has opened her heart wider and taught her new ways of seeing God at work.
Over the years, Sr. Lupita has worn many hats—coordinating Youth Ministry, Campus Ministry, and Vocations Ministry; teaching for 12 years at La Salle University; and even leading a non-profit in Mexico dedicated to advocating for social justice. Her ministry has taken her across borders, with formation in both Mexico and the U.S., always fueled by a spirituality rooted in the greatest Love.
Whether she’s hiking a trail, jogging at sunrise, reading or journaling with a cup of coffee, or simply taking in the beauty of nature, Sr. Lupita radiates joy and compassion. She lives to help others encounter God’s love and to work together toward a world that reflects God’s Kingdom. She is a teacher by profession and now has the opportunity to teach Middle School Spanish. She is happy to be back in a classroom teaching and helping students appreciate cultural diversity.
