She began her career as a Jesuit Volunteer, teaching Special Education at Saint Michael’s Association for Special Education on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. She remained there for three additional years before moving to New Mexico in 1986. She taught one year at Saint Mary’s, followed by eight years in APS teaching Special Education, and then 27 years in the Moriarty-Edgewood School District. Suzie is a National Board Certified Teacher and retired in 2022 after 40 years in education.
Since 1996, she has also taught Music at Prince of Peace as part of their Religious Education program. Her work has included directing children’s choirs for Christmas, First Communion, and other liturgies, as well as leading music for Religious Education classes. She also serves as pianist and director for one of the adult choirs at Prince of Peace.
This is Suzie’s 3rd year teaching Music at Annunciation. She loves being part of the ACS community and sharing her love of music with students. She lives in Edgewood with her daughter, Maggie.
